Other Information
In addition to our routine janitorial cleanings, the office is thoroughly wiped down twice a day. Each exam room is cleaned after every patient visit. We have a state-of-the-art air filtration system that cycles clean air throughout the office every 11 minutes.
Testing
Information on coronavirus testing specifically tailored for our office.
PCR Testing
For patients who are asymptomatic, a Rapid COVID-19 test will be administered. Patients with a history of direct contact with an individual with a known case of COVID-19 may also be tested using the Rapid COVID-19 test. Results of the rapid test are available within 10 minutes. For symptomatic patients who may test negative via rapid testing, a PCR COVID test will be sent to our laboratory for a definitive result and/or confirmation of the rapid test finding.
If I am PCR tested
If I am PCR tested (specimen sent to lab for processing), what do I do while I wait for the results?
While awaiting notification of the result, patients should self-isolate (quarantine) at home. Anyone else living in the house should also quarantine/stay home and maintain distance from you. The patient should also notify unvaccinated close contacts (family, friends, and co-workers) to self-quarantine for 10 days from their most recent contact.
When do I get the PCR results?
What if I test negative for COVID-19?
What if I test positive for COVID-19?
For positive test results, whether with a rapid or PCR test, the patient must remain in self-isolation for at least a week after initial symptoms present PLUS 72 hours after beginning to feel better (total of 10 days).. Because the virus waxes and wanes, it is critical to have 72 hours (3 days) of wellness prior to ending your quarantine. This reduces the further spread of illness. Any unvaccinated persons living in the same house with a COVID-19 positive patient should continue to self-isolate for an additional 14 days AFTER the patient’s 72 hours of wellness end.
